Animal measurements
With your dog standing naturally, record the length from nose to tail base, height from floor to elbow, maximum width and height to the head or ear tips, whichever is higher. Add their weight and any feature affecting posture. This checklist does not determine a universal carrier size.
Kennel measurements
Record internal and external dimensions from the manufacturer and check space for the dog’s natural posture. Photographs can supplement, but not replace, measurements.
Operator checks
Compare the information with current airline, mode and aircraft conditions for the itinerary. Do not treat a generic formula as guaranteed acceptance. IATA’s traveller information helps prepare questions; the operator confirms flight conditions.
What to send for review
Include dog and kennel measurements, model, photographs and intended route. Recheck the selection if the airline or animal’s circumstances change before booking.
